The Practitioner track is Alphacent's intermediate trading course: 20 free courses and 111 short lessons on technical analysis, strategies for crypto, stocks and commodities, portfolio risk, fundamentals and psychology. It is for people who already understand orders, long and short positions and a basic candlestick chart, and want to know why a setup is worth taking. The whole track takes a little over two hours.

What you will be able to do

  • Read one market across several timeframes and add Fibonacci levels, volume and the Ichimoku cloud to your chart reading.
  • Explain what correlation, drawdown management, the Kelly criterion and stress testing say about risk across a whole portfolio.
  • Value an asset with a DCF model or relative valuation, and find your way around 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K filings.
  • Describe how central bank decisions and the yield curve move bonds and currencies, and why rate gaps drive the carry trade.
  • Name common options strategies, from covered calls to iron condors, and say what delta, gamma, theta and vega measure.
  • Spot cognitive biases in your own trade decisions and set up a routine for handling a run of losses.

Who should start here, and who should wait

Start here if the basic vocabulary is already comfortable. You know why a short position gains when price falls, what a stop-loss is for, and how the spread eats into a trade.

If any of that is shaky, take the Foundation track first. Nothing in the app locks you out of Practitioner, but lessons on Elliott Wave counts or bond duration assume that groundwork.

What a lesson looks like on your phone

Each course has 5 to 7 short lessons and takes about 6 to 8 minutes in total.

Every course ends with a short quiz. Opening a lesson for the first time, finishing the course and passing the quiz each add XP. The lessons and quizzes themselves are in the app.

Three threads run through the 20 courses

The list looks broad, but most of it pulls on three threads.

  • Reading price. Advanced Technical Analysis, Elliott Wave Theory, and News and Sentiment Trading. They build on support and resistance.
  • Reading value and the macro backdrop. Fundamental analysis, SEC filings, interest rates, sector rotation and factor models. They explain why money moves between sectors and asset classes, which a chart alone does not show.
  • Controlling risk and yourself. Advanced Risk Management, Correlation Analysis and Advanced Trading Psychology.

The market-specific courses (crypto, stocks, commodities, currencies, options, DeFi) apply those threads to one asset class each. Take risk management and psychology early, not last. A better entry point does little for someone whose position size doubles after two losses.

Turning the track into practice

Pick one idea per week and test it with paper money. For example, mark the trend on Bitcoin's 1D chart, then look for entries only in that direction. Timing entries on the 1H chart is a Pro feature; on the free daily chart, wait for a pullback toward support instead. Log every trade with the reason you took it. After 20 trades, read the log back: which reasons held up, and which were guesses?

After that comes the Master track. The first lesson of every Master course is free; the rest is part of Pro.

Questions people ask

Is the Practitioner track really free?

Yes. All 20 courses, every lesson and every quiz are free, as in the Foundation track. Pro is a paid subscription that adds leverage, chart indicators and the rest of the Master lessons, among other things. Nothing here requires it.

Do I get a certificate at the end?

No. Alphacent is a practice and learning app, not an accredited provider, so there is no certificate. Progress shows up as XP and badges in the app. For a formal credential, look at a recognized exam body.

Can I learn technical analysis with virtual money first?

Yes, and it is the sensible order. Learn a method, then test it with paper money at live prices and keep a record of how it behaves. A simulator will not reproduce the pressure of real money, but it shows whether a method holds up first.

Is any of this financial advice?

No. The courses explain how markets, analysis methods and risk tools work. They do not tell you what to buy or sell, and results in a simulator are no promise of results with real money.
